In 2021 SpaceX accepted DOGE-1, a cubesat planned by Geometric Energy Corporation and paid for in Dogecoin, as a Falcon 9 rideshare aimed at cislunar space. It was framed as the first meme-funded flight toward the Moon: cameras on a lunar trajectory, a joke that cleared a real launch pad.

Cate-1 keeps that flight plan and changes the payload. Where Doge-1 was sold as the first doge in space, Cate-1 is the first cat. The suit, the patch, and the silver stack on our emblem are the brief. Solana is the rail. The community is mission control.
